Personalized Support for Your First Year

Marist's mentorship tradition began in the late 1970s as part of a broader effort to improve student retention and success. Research identified key moments when students needed extra support, and the mentor program was designed to provide it. Today, mentors continue to serve as a vital link between new students and the broader Marist community, ensuring a smooth transition into university life.

Your staff mentor isn't just a guide—they're someone who's been in your shoes and is committed to helping you navigate your first year with confidence. They'll connect you with faculty, support services, and student organizations, while also encouraging you to reflect on your academic and personal growth. Whether in residence halls, commuter spaces, small group workshops, or social events, mentors are there to help you make the most of your Marist experience.
